“Our Own Pace” is here to stand by them and provide the support they need to grow and learn.
We truly believe that all of these accomplishments can be attained through education, equipment, supplies, materials, independent living skills, tough love, and housing opportunities.
All donations to our org go directly to providing these resources, and are tax deductible.
If you are a person with disabilities or know someone else who has them, we encourage you to reach out to us. We operate in Merced and Stanislaus counties, and have a track record of
success. We’ve helped families obtain much-needed vehicles and jobs, provided opportunities to plan and execute special events and exhibitions, and much more. By working with “Our Own Pace”, you’ll face an easier path to becoming the person you want to be.

OUR STORY

Reading Braille Book

“Why focus on what you can’t do when there are so many things that you can do.”

“Our Own Pace” is an offshoot of the Stable Living Program, which began in 2012. We started this program out of love for the people in our lives who happened to have disabilities. This set us upon a mission to see local programs designed to showcase the strengths of people with disabilities, and to create more opportunities for them.
All aspects of the “Our Own Pace” program are oriented towards the people with disabilities who participate in the program. We are constantly expanding, revisiting, and fine-tuning our activities to best meet the needs of the individuals who work with us. In service of these goals, we teach:

In addition, we strive to provide material resources and housing opportunities where possible and necessary for the livelihood of individuals and families with disabilities. We are always seeking to expand our operations with the help of donations from the community, and searching for volunteers to get involved. If you are interested in helping “Our Own Pace” or learning more about our programs, don’t hesitate to reach out.
